A couple weeks ago I started Beth Moore's study on Daniel with a group of ladies at church. I knew this study was going to kick me in the face after the first night. I have already been taught so many things and most of it has nothing to do with the book of Daniel. I have realized that for so long I have been living out the motions of Christianity without it having any effect at all on my heart. I go to church every Sunday, go to Bible study, pray before meals, etc...yet none of this has brought me to the place where I need and want to be. I am learning that "The word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart" (Hebrews 4:12). The last two weeks have been an amazing testimony of what God can do through His Word. I look forward to reading His Word and it changing my life. And as Beth Moore is teaching us, the Word is not always about us, it's about HIM. Not everything in the Bible has to apply to us--we need to take it as it is and know why it glorifies God. I am at a point in my life where I am learning just how sovereign God is and how true He is to his word.
I am still looking for a job and trusting that God has the perfect one for me. This week I will be sending off my application for grad school at Southern University of New Orleans--that possibility truly excites me! I know God has amazing plans for me & Matt, we just have to wait and see what he has in store for us!
